real estate lead generating web site 300x288 3 Things Every Real Estate Lead Generating Web Site NeedsWe all know that Realtor websites can pull in a decent amount of sales leads.

With NAR’s 2009 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers reporting that 90% of home buyers using the internet as a source of searching for a home, you have to be crazy to not have your own Realtor web site up and running.

While it would seem basic that any ol’ Realtor web site can serve as a real estate lead generating web site, it may not be so easy.

Here are 3 things that every real estate lead generating web site needs:

  1. Good Visibility
You’ve probably heard of search engine optimization (or SEO) and trust me no good real estate lead generating web site can survive without it. Use clean code, carefully select your keywords and write content using them, get inbound links – these are all things that will make your Realtor web site more “search engine friendly”. SEO is an on-going (and sometimes time consuming) process, but it’s nowhere near as hard as some claim.

  2. Something to Offer — That People Actually Want
Are visitors getting what THEY need from your Realtor web site? Offer information about the local market, give helpful advice to guide folks through the home buying or home selling process, and any other insight that may prove useful. Doing this will establish you as a reliable source of real estate knowledge. Also, the content should be updated periodically to keep the site fresh and up-to-date.

  3. Clear Call-to-Actions
Is it crystal clear what a visitor should do on your Realtor web site? Each page should have a clear-cut action that you want users to complete. Don’t give a wide variety of options – this may overwhelm the visitor and even supermarkets studies have shown people presented with too many options are less likely to buy. Keep it simple and very obvious with a web form to sign up for new listings or a listing presentation.

With such a large amount of home buyers beginning their home search on the internet, it’ll come to no surprise that a real estate lead generating web site will be well worth the effort.

Of course, if you are going to invest your time and energy into developing a Realtor web site, it would be best to get it done right. Do a little research, dabble in SEO, write good content, and make it obvious what users should do while on your page and you’ll start generating leads in no time.
